LOS GANSOS
Por nada los gansos
tocan alarma
en sus trompetas de barro.
The geese
on their
clay
trumpets sound
false
alarms.
LA TORTUGA
Aunque jamás se muda,
a tumbos, como
carro de mudanzas
va por la senda la tortuga.
Although he
never stirs from home
the
tortoise, like a load of furniture,
jolts down the path.
HOJAS SECAS
El jardín está lleno de hojas secas
nunca vi tantas hojas en sus árboles
verdes, en primavera.
The garden
is thick with dry leaves:
on the
trees I never saw
so many
green, in spring…
LOS SAPOS
Trozos de barro,
por la senda en penumbra
saltan los sapos.
Lumps of mud, the toads
along the
shady path
hop…
MARIPOSA NOCTURNA
Devuelve a la desnuda rama,
nocturna mariposa,
las hojas secas de tus alas.
Restore to
the bare bough,
nocturnal
butterfly,
the dry
leaces of your wings!
EL RUISEÑOR
Bajo el celeste pavor
delira por la única estrella
el cántico del ruiseñor.
The
nightingale beneath
the awe of
heaven raves
its psalm
to the sole star.

Parece la sombrilla
este hongo policromo
de un sapo japonista.
The multicolored mushroom seems
a Japanese toad´s

LIBÉLULA
Porfía la libélula
por emprender su cruz transparente
en la rama desnuda y trémula…

dragonfly strives patiently
to fasten
its transparent cross
to the bare
and trembling bough.
VUELOS
Juntos, en la tarde tranquila
vuelan notas de Ángelus,
murciélagos y golondrinas.
Mingled, in
the quiet evening,
chimes of
angelus and bats
and
swallows fly.
SANDÍA
¡Del verano, roja y fría
carcajada,
rebanada
de sandía!
Red cold
guffaw of
summer,
slice
of
watermelon!
